RMU began as a motivated group of friends turning the dream of an action sports company into a reality. It started with a hand built ski press, a garage, and some ugly skis. As a result of our constant drive for perfection, our products quickly began to exceed what the industry had to offer. As the demand for our skis grew, we realized that our garage press was no longer sufficient to meet the demand for our products. With our background as handmade ski producers, we were accepted into the Never Summer® manufacturing facility in Denver, Colorado, which is world renowned and coveted for the quality of product it produces.

RMU's beliefs rest on two major differences between the conventional ski industry and us: attention to detail and exceptional customer service. The consumer and end user of RMU's products are what drive the direction of our efforts. Our members, as we refer to them, have complete access to the process and details that make our products highly desirable to the ski community. Upon purchase of any RMU hard good, the member has the ability to assist with Research & Development testing, graphic selection and many other product development processes. The result is a product that has been influenced by many knowledgeable, experienced and passionate skiers and skateboarders, and a strong client driven word of mouth campaign.

What does it mean to be a member:

Full inclusion in every aspect of design. After the purchase of a new Rocky Mountain Underground, just register your product with our members program and you will begin receiving emails. You will soon receive technical, design, and news emails on up coming product, and events. We want to know what your thoughts are, what you like and what we can do better. The best part of it all comes down to the graphic release parties where you can vote on the graphic you want to see on next years line. We accept art from many independent graphic designers and artist near and far. We work hard to stay in touch with the skiing community, to deliver the products that skiers want, and to make those products out of the highest quality material on earth.

Our Roots:

Our name comes from the time spent in little garage in Breckenridge Colorado where we built our first ski press. We were frustrated with the standard of customer service the industry giants we providing. We felt that with the diminishing quality in the skis available on the market there was room to improve. RMU set out to build a better ski. Our intention was to build a ski for ourselves, something that would last more than one season and something we could be proud of. What we found out was that there were people just like us all over the globe. People that wanted something different for the industry. People that wanted a quality American made ski. RMU's focus has always been on building quality products. We have chosen to use the highest quality material, and the best American production facilities available.

Where We are Headed:

That depends on what our members have to tell us. From the start listening to what you as skiers wanted has made Rocky Mountain Underground a success. One thing is for sure, we are always searching for the best materials to put into your skis, the newest designs to let you test, and the best American manufacturing facilities for all of our products to keep you and your neighbors working.
