The Professor’s 120mm waist and Camber Rocker Technology provide stability and floatation like no other. Not just a 100% powder ski, the RMU Professor gives you the ability to charge in the rough conditions and powder alike. In many ways the Professor has become the flagship of RMU's line.
Feedback from our members during prototyping led us to use a core profile that allowed for the playfulness of rocker, yet had traditional characteristics of cambered skis. To make the ski more stable at higher speeds we created a mold with an extremely long cambered portion, 108cm, and a modest rocker. The combination of our core profile and camber/rockered mold resulted in an instant classic.
The Professors boast an extremely large turning radius at 32m. This radius is very effective at high speeds and inspires confidence while charging chop and crud. However members wanted something that was more nimble in tight trees. To addresses this we began by looking at the radius turn of the Professors rocker, and how it affected the radius of the sidecut. The results showed us that as the rocker flexed, it was actually changing the radius turn of the sidecut. The relations of this flex resulted in a tighter turn at slower speeds. The more we played with the rocker flex the easier it was to turn the Professor in the trees. Adjusting the camber rocker mold gave us the most versatile ski of its size on the market!
